Why are you a leader at the Well? My husband and I are both excited to be leaders at such an awesome ministry as The Well. Although with one small baby and another on the way, I often feel so limited as to what I am able to contribute back to The Well at this point in my life, I LOVE the friendships we’ve established…the leadership team, as well as many others at The Well, have truly become our family.
Role at the Well: Emma’s mom =), Greeter
If you knew you could do anything and not fail, what would you do? Have a ton of children…the more the better.
Nickname:  Nay
Favorite Book:  Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
Favorite Quote/Quote to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in
sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out
and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
Favorite Sports Team:  Mmmm…don’t really have one. I’ll say Michigan’s football team just so J will be proud of me! =)
Favorite thing about the well: It reaches to minister to an age group that many churches have forgotten about. When I turned 18, and finished youth group, I remember feeling a little cast to the side. There was nothing at the church for young adults, and yet I still had such a desire to connect and bond with people my age. I wound up becoming a leader for the youth, but would have LOVED to have had a place where I could have been refreshed, as well as been able to draw closer to God in a younger setting, and build lifelong friendship…..The Well is that place for young adults in our area today!

Jason

Name:  Erik William Tornquist
Birthday: January 28th 1978
Favorite Bible Verse: Psalm 118:8  “It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in man.”
Hobbies/Interests: Musica playing-guitar or piano / writing- good ol' fashion pen & paper or this fantastic note taking software that kicks Microsoft Word's butt ; Woodworking; Learning how to mobilize myself with this funky prosthetic leg.
Current Occupation: Nothing. Temporarily out of work; but for almost 10 years I DID work on electrical motors (ie Elevator Motors), mainly in Manhattan but would travel all around the north east to do jobs in highrise buildings.
Current CD in your player/Song last listened to on your IPOD: First thing I gotta say: I don't have an IPOD. I tend to believe there are just as good mp3 players that are half the price. With that said, I use my Sirius Satellite toy as an mp3 player. The last CD I listened to was Bruce Springsteen Live in NYC and the last thing on my mp3 player I listened to was Nicole Nordiman (did I spell that right?)
Why are you a leader at the Well? Because atleast for now, that's where I feel I belong.  I've grown up as apart of this group ever since it began years ago under a different name. It's a place that is Real with what we say and believe. I am one for not trying to sugar coat the face of reality and accept everyone and their faults they may have, as I acknowledge my own.
Role at the Well:  I play the electric guitar in the praise band & and help organize it as necessary. Mainly I am there as the oldest one who counsels those who need help in living their life (Geeze, don't we all!?!).  Those who need advice or some form of mentoring, I am there. I am also just an ear to listen and sometimes, if needed, I'll talk.
If you knew you could do anything and not fail, what would you do?  I'd go into the police academy. A week before my motorcycle accident, I took the civil service exam hoping to do something with law enforcement; needless to say, due to the loss of my left leg, my abilities and limitations have changed.
Nickname: Uhhhh.....this is rather embarrassing but when I was younger I was called: Goose. But if someone were to call me that today, can't guarantee that they'd survive the rest of the day. :-)  But as of lately I've been called: 'E'
Favorite Book: The Bible (obviously), The Hidden Face of God (proving God's existence by studying Science), Newspapers, Calvin & Hobbs, Pearls Before Swine, Peanuts, Streams in the Desert, How Hollywood Blows (a book I hope to write someday).
Favorite Quote/Quote to live by: “Put your trust in God and not in Man.” ; “Genius is never understood in it's own time.”; “If you can't control your peanut butter, how do you expect to control your life?”; “That's the whole problem with science- You've got a bunch of empiricists trying to describe things of unimaginable wonder. “
Favorite Sports Team:  Don't care much about sports except for Xtreme sports & I do have to admit, I enjoy NASCAR- proud of it! Go get'em Jeff Gordon!
Favorite thing about the well:  It's a place built on the words of the Gospel, without fearing   repercussions by the world. It's a place that welcomes everyone as they are, isn't politically correct in a compromising kind of way but is in a compassionate way, has great teaching, music and all the leaders are people who I love!
